The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and suburb Bus Company (Sherkat-e-Vahed) has asked drivers and workers in different parts of the company to stage a strike on 28 Jan 2006 in support of Mr Mansour Osanloo freedom, the leader of Tehran Bus Company’s Syndicate who along with the board members were detained on 22 Dec 2005, as well as recognition of Syndicate and acceptance of collective contract by the government.
The Islamic Republic Regime has always opposed the activities of independent workers unions and based on this policy the workers activists not belonging to the Islamic Workers Council were attacked, detained and killed. Therefore the gathering of Sherkat-e-Vahed syndicate were attacked and disrupted by thugs and rogue belonging to Islamic Workers. And in continuation to this anti workers policy the agents of Intelligence Ministry has ransacked the homes of leader and the board members of Tehran Bus Company Syndicate on 22 December 2005 and arrested them.
Proclamation of the strike by the Syndicate of Sherkat-e-Vahed has open a new chapter in the Iranian working class struggle therefore it should be supported by the working class and workers activists as well as the freedom loving people.
We the activists of Hasteh Aghaliatt, support the Syndicate of workers of Tehran and suburb Bus Company’s demands, and strike and appeal to the workers activists as well as freedom loving people world over to support the demands of Syndicate of Sherkat-e-Vahed.
